This is a picture of inside a fire hydrant that failed to operate next to a house that was on fire. Sadly the house burned down because the second closest hydrant was a ways away.
Thankfully that hydrant has now been completely repaired and is ready to be used if needed in the future.
This is one reason why it's so important to service (flush, lubricate, diagnose) each hydrant at least once, or better yet, twice a year to ensure that they are working properly and to get the ones that are not working repaired before an emergency.
We provide both services to towns, cities, and businesses that simply do not have the manpower, knowledge, or time to maintain their own fire hydrants.
